Ingredients
- 1 (26 oz) bag frozen homestyle meatballs
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 1 packet brown gravy mix
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp cold water
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the onions and mushrooms and cook until softened and lightly golden.
Stir in the beef broth, gravy mix, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper until smooth.
Add the frozen meatballs and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
Cover and cook until the meatballs are heated through and tender.
Whisk together the cornstarch and cold water in a small bowl.
Pour the slurry into the skillet and stir until the gravy thickens into a rich, silky sauce.
Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve over mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or rice.
Notes
For extra flavor, stir in a spoonful of sour cream at the end.
Serve with steamed green beans or roasted broccoli for an easy meal.
