Ingredients:
For the Chicken
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
For the Whiskey Glaze
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup whiskey (bourbon works great)
- ¼ cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
For Garnish
- Fresh parsley, chopped
- Extra black pepper
Instructions
Pat chicken breasts dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
Reduce heat to medium and add butter to the skillet. Once melted, stir in the minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
Pour in the whiskey and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Simmer until slightly reduced.
Add the chicken broth, honey, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and red pepper flakes. Stir until well combined and bring to a gentle simmer.
Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the glaze over the top. Continue cooking until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken beautifully.
Garnish with fresh parsley and a sprinkle of black pepper before serving.
