Nana’s Christmas Fudge

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Chill Time: 2 hours
Yield: 36 small squares

Ingredients

  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ⅛ teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 2½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup chopped toasted pecans
  • Flaky sea salt, for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides.
  2. In a heavy saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk, butter, and sea salt over medium-low heat. Stir constantly until the butter has melted and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until the mixture is hot and just begins to gently bubble around the edges. Avoid boiling rapidly.
  4. Remove from the heat and immediately stir in both kinds of chocolate chips. Continue stirring until completely smooth and glossy.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Fold in the toasted pecans.
  7. Pour the fudge into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  8. If desired, sprinkle with a tiny pinch of flaky sea salt and a few extra chopped pecans.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until completely firm.
  10. Lift the fudge from the pan using the parchment paper and cut into small squares with a sharp knife.

From My Kitchen to Yours 🤍

Every Christmas, Nana made homemade fudge. It wasn’t truly the holiday season until there was a tin of rich chocolate fudge waiting on the kitchen counter for family and friends to enjoy. This recipe keeps that tradition alive with a few little touches that make it extra creamy, extra chocolatey, and perfect for sharing.

Nana’s Tip ❤️

Use good-quality chocolate chips and stir gently until completely smooth. Let the fudge chill fully before cutting for clean, bakery-style squares.

Delicious Add-Ins

  • Chopped walnuts instead of pecans
  • Mini marshmallows folded in after the chocolate melts
  • Crushed peppermint candies sprinkled on top
  • Toasted coconut
  • Festive Christmas sprinkles
  • White chocolate drizzle after chilling
