Christmas Morning Breakfast Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz) tube refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
  • 8 large eggs
  • ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 cups freshly shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the breakfast sausage until browned. Drain well.
  3. Press the crescent dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, pinching the seams together.
  4. Sprinkle the sausage evenly over the dough, then top with the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses.
  5. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the sausage and cheese.
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
  8. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
