Ingredients
- 1 package (14.3 oz) Oreo cookies
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 12 oz white melting wafers or white candy melts
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
- Red and blue gel food coloring
- Patriotic sprinkles (stars, jimmies, or sanding sugar)
- Optional: red and blue drizzle made from colored candy melts
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet or plate with parchment paper.
- Place the Oreo cookies (filling included) into a food processor and pulse until they become fine crumbs.
- Add the softened cream cheese and vanilla. Blend until a thick dough forms.
- Scoop about 1 tablespoon of mixture and roll into smooth balls.
- Place on the prepared pan and freeze for 20 minutes.
- Melt the white candy melts according to the package directions.
- Dip each Oreo ball into the melted coating, allowing the excess to drip off.
- Before the coating sets, decorate with patriotic sprinkles.
- For extra flair, drizzle with thin lines of red and blue candy melts.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
Optional “Firecracker” Surprise
For a festive pop of color, gently fold 2 tablespoons of red, white, and blue star sprinkles into the Oreo mixture before rolling. When someone bites into one, they’ll see colorful little stars inside!
Storage
- Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
- Freeze for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before serving.
