Yield: 30 Oreo balls
Prep Time: 25 minutes
Chill Time: 1 hour

Ingredients

  • 1 package (14.3 oz) Oreo cookies
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 12 oz white melting wafers or white candy melts
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Red and blue gel food coloring

Instructions

  • Line a baking sheet or plate with parchment paper.
  • Place the Oreo cookies (filling included) into a food processor and pulse until they become fine crumbs.

  • Scoop about 1 tablespoon of mixture and roll into smooth balls.
  • Place on the prepared pan and freeze for 20 minutes.
  • Melt the white candy melts according to the package directions.
  • Dip each Oreo ball into the melted coating, allowing the excess to drip off.
  • Before the coating sets, decorate with patriotic sprinkles.
  • For extra flair, drizzle with thin lines of red and blue candy melts.
  • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

Optional “Firecracker” Surprise

For a festive pop of color, gently fold 2 tablespoons of red, white, and blue star sprinkles into the Oreo mixture before rolling. When someone bites into one, they’ll see colorful little stars inside!

  • Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
  • Freeze for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before serving.
