This Banana Bread Iced Latte has all those cozy banana bread flavors packed into an easy homemade coffee drink. Espresso, banana, brown sugar, vanilla and cinnamon come together for a creamy iced latte that’s sweet without tasting like a banana milkshake.
The brown sugar cold foam is what really finishes it off. It adds a creamy caramel-like sweetness that works perfectly with the banana and cinnamon, making this a fun fall coffee when you want something besides pumpkin spice.
Ingredients
For the Banana Bread Latte
- 3 shots blonde espresso
- 1 tablespoon banana syrup
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup milk of choice
- Ice
For the Brown Sugar Cold Foam
- 3 tablespoons heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of cinnamon
Instructions
- Add the hot espresso, banana syrup, brown sugar, vanilla and cinnamon to a glass. Stir until the brown sugar dissolves.
- Fill a 16-ounce glass with ice. Pour in the espresso mixture, then add the milk.
- Add the heavy cream, milk, brown sugar syrup, vanilla and cinnamon to a milk frother. Froth until thick and creamy but still pourable.
- Pour the brown sugar cold foam over the iced latte. Sprinkle very lightly with cinnamon if desired and serve immediately.
Quick Note
Use banana syrup rather than mashed banana. Real banana sounds tempting, but it changes the texture of the drink and can overpower the coffee. Banana syrup gives you that banana bread flavor while keeping the latte smooth.
