Crispy, cheesy little ghost pizzas that are perfect for Halloween lunches, after-school snacks, or spooky movie nights!
Ingredients
- 6 slices Texas toast or thick Italian bread
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 6 slices mozzarella cheese
- 12 mini pepperoni slices (optional)
- 12 small black olive pieces (for the eyes)
- ½ tsp Italian seasoning
- Softened butter or cooking spray
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Lightly butter or spray both sides of the bread and place on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 3ā4 minutes, just until lightly toasted.
- Spread each slice with pizza sauce.
- Using kitchen scissors or a small ghost-shaped cookie cutter, cut ghost shapes from the mozzarella slices. Place one ghost on each piece of toast.
- Add two tiny black olive pieces for the eyes. If using pepperoni, tuck a few mini slices underneath the ghost so they peek out around the edges.
- Sprinkle lightly with Italian seasoning.
- Bake for 6ā8 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the toast is golden around the edges.
Serve warm and enjoy!
Recipe Tip
If you donāt have a ghost cookie cutter, simply trim the mozzarella slices with kitchen scissors into simple ghost shapes. The slightly imperfect edges make them look even cuter once melted! š»
