Cozy Apple Crisp

Ingredients

Apple Filling

  • 6–7 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced (Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, or a mix)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup light brown sugar
  • 1½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Crisp Topping

  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup cold butter, cubed

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, toss together the sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and flour until evenly coated.
  3. Spread the apple mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples.
  7. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
  8. Let cool for 10–15 minutes before serving.

Serve warm with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce for the ultimate cozy dessert.
