Firecracker M&M Cookie Bars

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Bake Time: 22–26 minutes
Cool Time: 1 hour
Servings: 16 bars

Ingredients

  • 1 (24 oz) tub Pillsbury Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
  • ½ cup red, white & blue M&M’s, plus more for topping
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips
  • 2 Tbsp red, white & blue jimmies, plus more for topping
  • ¼ cup additional M&M’s (for pressing into the tops after baking)
  • Flaky sea salt, optional

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.

Let the cookie dough sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes to soften slightly.

Fold the M&M’s, white chocolate chips, and jimmies into the cookie dough just until evenly combined.

Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan.

Sprinkle the remaining M&M’s over the top, gently pressing them into the dough. Add a light sprinkle of extra jimmies.

Bake for 22–26 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the center is just set. Do not overbake.

As soon as the bars come out of the oven, gently press a few more M&M’s into the warm tops for a colorful bakery-style finish. Sprinkle with a few more jimmies and a pinch of flaky sea salt, if desired.

Cool completely in the pan before lifting out with the parchment paper. Slice into 16 bars and enjoy!

Tips

  • Slightly underbake for soft, chewy cookie bars.
  • Pressing fresh M&M’s into the tops after baking makes the colors pop.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
