It comes together in minutes with a handful of simple ingredients and you can easily adjust the honey and lemonade to your taste.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes
Servings: 1 large mug
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup lemonade
- 1 green tea bag, preferably mint green tea
- 1 peach herbal tea bag
- 1–2 tablespoons honey, to taste
- Fresh lemon slice, optional
- Fresh mint, optional
Instructions
- Add the water and lemonade to a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat until hot and steaming, but don’t bring it to a rolling boil.
- Pour the hot mixture into a large mug.
- Add the green tea bag and peach herbal tea bag. Steep for 3–5 minutes.
- Remove the tea bags.
- Stir in 1 tablespoon of honey. Taste and add another tablespoon if you’d like it sweeter.
- Garnish with a fresh lemon slice or mint, if desired.
- Serve warm.
For a Sore Throat or Hoarse Voice
For a gentler version, use 1½ cups water and ½ cup lemonade and use 1–2 tablespoons of honey. The reduced lemonade makes the drink less acidic while still giving it plenty of citrus flavor.
A Little Tip
Don’t serve it piping hot. Warm tea can feel soothing, but extremely hot drinks can further irritate an already tender throat.
